SUSTAINABLE
FOR YOUR HYPERMOBILE OR NEURODIVERGENT BODY
introduction
Hi, I’m Andrea (she/her), a licensed Occupational Therapist in Colorado. I’m a hypermobile, neurodivergent, disabled OT who helps folks build sustainable lives in a world that wasn't built for us.
You've seen physicians, physical therapists and psychologists, yet your day to day is still a struggle.
That's where I come in!
Bridging the gap between the medical and the practical, I can help you adapt your life to your unique brain and body so that you can live a sustainable and meaningful life on your terms.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE
1
HYPERMOBILITY
Have you been diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD)? Or suspect you might be hypermobile?

Once believed to be rare, recent studies have shown the prevalence of these 2 disorders between 1/500 and 1/800 people.1

Hypermobility and its associated conditions (POTS, MCAS, chronic pain, etc) can make day to day life extremely challenging.
I have a lifetime of lived experience adapting life for a hypermobile body combined with 8 years professional experience helping people with all types of bodies live their life to the fullest!

2
NEURODIVERGENCE
Have you been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD or suspect you might be neurodivergent? (Self diagnosis is valid!)

It is believed that 15-20% of the population exhibits some sort of neurodiversity.2 This can include autism, ADHD, dyscalculia, dyslexia, OCD, and acquired neurodiversity such as traumatic brain injury.

Living in a world that isn't designed for our nervous systems is extremely challenging, leading to difficulty in everyday life and ultimately burnout.

As someone living in a neurodivergent body I deeply understand what it's like navigating this bright, loud, neurotypical world. There are a myriad of ways to accommodate yourself so you can live a sustainable life and stop constantly running on empty!

CHRONIC PAIN
Do you have pain on a day to day basis that doesn't seem to respond to all the typical treatments (ice, heat, physical therapy, stretching, massage, etc)?

It is estimated that 20% of adults in the US deal with chronic pain.3 The most recent research on chronic pain emphasizes the role of the nervous system in our understanding of chronic pain, however most mainstream health professionals have not been educated in this new research. This misunderstanding leaves people confused, frustrated and stuck.

I have combined my lifelong experience with chronic pain with the latest research in pain science to help you understand your pain and find strategies to reduce it so you can get back to doing the things you love!
